WhatsApp is introducing a feature to organize chats by filtering them with custom lists.

    WhatsApp is preparing to release a feature that will allow users to sort chats using filters, making it easier to find conversations with a single button press. 

According to a recent report by Wanting, this feature is being developed to help users connect more easily with important contacts.

 Similar to the Lists feature on X, users will be able to organize chats by creating custom lists for people and group conversations. As shown in the screenshot, these custom filters will be located at the top of the app, alongside existing filters like Unread, Favourites, and Groups.

These new custom filters are designed to help users quickly locate and access their favorite conversations, eliminating the need to scroll through long lists of chats.   

For business users, this functionality will be particularly useful for finding relevant chats, tracking new leads, managing ongoing transactions, and sorting customer queries.

However, the custom filter creation feature is still in development and is expected to be available in a future app update. The exact timeline for its release in the stable version remains unknown.
